Homestay accommodation gives you the chance to live with a local host, experience everyday life in Malta, and practise English in a welcoming and supportive environment.
The school can arrange accommodation with one of our trusted homestay hosts. All hosts are carefully selected and reviewed regularly to ensure they provide a friendly, safe and pleasant living environment for our students. Staying with a host is more than just accommodation – it offers a comfortable home setting and the opportunity to engage in day-to-day local life.
Homestay accommodation includes a single or twin/double room as standard, along with breakfast and dinner provided daily. Single rooms are the most popular option, while twin rooms are also available for participants travelling alone. In such cases, we will assign a suitable roommate of the same gender and, where possible, of a different nationality to encourage cultural exchange and English practice outside the classroom.
Bedlinen and towels are provided and changed weekly; however, students are kindly asked to bring their own beach towels. Hosts provide fans during the warmer months and heating during the cooler season, helping ensure a comfortable stay throughout the year.
Laundry is normally done once a week by the host, although arrangements may vary depending on the household routine. As with any homestay, a degree of flexibility is appreciated. This is not a guesthouse or hotel – it is a lived-in home where students are welcomed as part of the household while maintaining independence.
Choosing a homestay option also allows you to practise English in real-life situations outside of school hours. Mealtimes often provide valuable opportunities to engage in conversation, develop listening skills and build confidence in speaking.
All homestay accommodation is located within convenient distance of the school, making travel to and from lessons simple and practical. Hosts live in safe residential areas, offering a balanced experience of everyday local living and easy access to St Julian’s.
