Quick questions

Is this a placement test?

No. This is a quick English check designed to give you a sense of where you sit on the CEFR scale. Our full placement test runs when you book a course at Maltalingua and covers all four skills — reading, writing, listening and speaking.

How accurate is the result?

It's a useful indication, not a definitive assessment. The check covers grammar, vocabulary and reading-comprehension scenarios — it doesn't measure listening, speaking or writing. For a comprehensive placement we run a full assessment when you arrive on a course.

Will you add me to a mailing list?

No. The check is anonymous — we don't ask for your email to see your result, and we don't track you afterwards.

Why are the questions in English?

Because that's how we measure your English. Cambridge, EF, Goethe — every credible level check does the same. The page around the check is in your language; the questions stay English.

What if I pick the wrong level?

That's fine — pick whatever feels right. If you score high we'll suggest the next level up; if you score low we'll suggest the level below. You can take any level check as many times as you like.

How long does it take?

About 10 minutes for 12 questions. Faster at lower levels, slower at C1/C2 because of reading.

Ready when you are.

12 questions. 10 minutes. A quick sense of where you sit.
