If you apply for a job with us, whether through the application form on our jobs pages or by email, Maltalingua Limited (C 54574) is the controller of the Personal Data you send us.

What we collect. Your name and contact details, whether you already have the right to work in Malta, your teaching qualifications and experience, your availability, your CV and anything you choose to include in it, and any covering note you add.

Why we use it. Only to assess your application, to contact you about it, and to keep a record of the recruitment process.

Our lawful basis. Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. Where we keep a record of the process itself, our basis is our legitimate interest in managing recruitment fairly.

How long we keep it. We keep unsuccessful applications for 6 months and then delete them. If you ask us to keep your details on file for future vacancies, we keep them for 12 months from the date you applied. If we offer you a role, your application becomes part of your employment record.

Who sees it. Your application is seen by our academic and management team. We do not sell it, and we do not share it outside Maltalingua unless the law requires us to.

Please do not send us special category data. We do not ask for your date of birth, photograph, health information, religion or anything similar, and you do not need to include them in your CV.

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your application data at any time by writing to our Data Protection Officer, Tania Assuncao, at t.assuncao@maltalingua.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta.

We retain Personal Data only as long as necessary or as required by law (for example, accounting records are kept for 10 years).

Research using Personal Data is conducted only with consent where required and with safeguards in place.

We are not responsible for third-party websites linked from our Site. Please review their privacy policies.

We collect certain Personal Data automatically via cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Our services include dedicated programmes for minors, such as junior courses and summer camps. In these cases, we process Personal Data for the purposes of enrolment, safeguarding, and service delivery. This information must always be provided or authorised by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect or process Personal Data from minors outside of these authorised educational services.

We do not make decisions solely by automated means, including profiling.
