Learn English in Malta - Summer 2026

Summer 2026 · Last August weeks · September & October open

Learn English in Malta. Small classes, real progress.

A small English school for adults in St Julian's. EAQUALS-accredited. Standard or Intensive English. A rooftop pool, the city next door, and classes small enough that the teacher knows you well. A few August weeks are still open — and September and October are the quietest, warmest time of the year to come.

Why adults choose Maltalingua

A small school, not a big one. Small classes are what matter most.

🎓

EAQUALS-accredited

One of the best marks for English teaching. People from outside the school check us every two years.

👥

Max 12 per class

You speak in every lesson. There is no back row to hide in. This is what helps your English most.

🏊

Rooftop pool

A lounge, free WiFi and sea views over St Julian's Bay. Use it on your breaks or to relax at the end of the day.

📍

Walking distance to everything

Restaurants, beaches and the boat to Comino. The school is in the middle of St Julian's, so you never need a taxi.

The best month to come is the one most people miss.

Summer peaks in July and early August, and those weeks are busy by design. What comes after is the part our returning students book on purpose: the sea is still warm well into October, the island empties out, and classes get smaller. Same teachers, same rooftop, same city — a calmer version of it.

Late August — the last summer weeks

The activity programme is still running and the evenings are still long, with fewer students in each class than at the peak. Once these weeks go, summer is over.

September & October — the golden season

Warm sea, golden light, and a school that feels like it was built for the number of people in it. The best lesson time of the year — you will speak more in a quiet September class than in any July one.

What students say

Reviews from adult students who studied with us.

Luca from Germany
★★★★★

I did online courses for three years and did not improve much. After two weeks at Maltalingua, with twelve people in my class, I stopped translating in my head. The rooftop after class made it feel like a holiday too.

Louisa from Poland
★★★★★

The small size really helps. The teachers knew my name on day two and knew my problems by day four. I went home with friends from five countries — and the English level I wanted for years.

I got my quote in one day. The school is in the middle of St Julian's, so I walked everywhere. The lessons were the right level for me. When I was not in class, I was at the rooftop pool. It was my best summer choice.

Frequently asked questions

What courses are open to adults this summer?

Standard General English (20 lessons a week), Intensive English (30 lessons a week), Business English, and IELTS Preparation. All are for adults only, with max 12 per class.

What ages are the adult courses for?

18 and older. Most adult students are between 18 and 35. We also have a class for students over 30 all summer.

Can I book accommodation through the school?

Yes. You can choose our residence, a shared apartment, or a checked host family. Tell us what you want in the quote form.

Are classes really capped at 12?

Yes. We are EAQUALS-accredited and we keep classes small on purpose.

What insurance do I need?

All students need travel insurance for their whole stay. Maltalingua is not responsible for travel problems that are not in our control.

Is Malta still warm in September and October?

Yes. The sea holds its summer temperature into late October and is often warmer than in June. Days stay bright and mild, the beaches are quiet, and the whole island is easier to move around.
